Big Boy Booster!

Matthew has been going through a phase where he is reluctant to get into his high chair, so today we bought him a booster seat. So far so good - he was anxious to sit at the table and eat some apple sauce. As usual, he started out nicely eating it with a spoon, but as the bowl got emptier...

...he resorted to a much more effecient way of eating...

But all in all it was successful and delicious!

Mel and Chad's Night Out

Chad and I were supposed to go to a concert downtown a couple of Saturday's ago, but it got postponed until this past Wednesday. Since I am downtown for work anyways, we decided to make an evening of it. Matthew spent the evening at home with "Pa" and "Neny". Our first stop was the CN Tower. I had never been to the CN Tower and it had been many years since Chad had been there. It was pretty good, I am glad we did it, but it's probably one of those sites that you only visit once.

From the CN Tower we went to a restaurant near the Kool Haus, where Hedley was playing. The restaurant was a big disapointment, but the concert was quite good. Here is Jacob Hoggart dressed as superman...

All in all, it was a good night, we just wish it had been a weekend instead of a Wednesday!!

Balls of Fun!

Yesterday we went to "Balls of Fun" - a play gym with balls everywhere. For anyone who knows Matthew, you know this was sure to be a big hit. It was very busy, so when we first arrived he was a bit shy...but that didn't last for long! Here is asking Chad to juggle.

Table Manners...

We seem to be getting past the stage where after every bite of food using a spoon or fork, the utensil gets thrown on the floor. This was not a game that Mom was fond of, and often resulted in just letting Matthew feed himself with his fingers. But lately he seems to be very proud to use his fork and spoon by himself...especially with applesauce! However, as he got to the end of the applesauce he resorted to methods more effective for getting every last drop...drinking and finger scooping... Mmmm...delicious!

Winter Fun!

We got a pile of snow on Friday, so yesterday we decided to take advantage of the new yard and play outside for while - good times :-)

Here is Matthew in his Christmas sleigh! He had a great time and was giggling as Chad pulled him around the yard. Though he would not stand or sit in the snow, he loved being outside!!

We Survived!

Well, it's been a long couple of weeks! Between Chad being away, Matthew getting a cold and then passing it to me for a two week stay, crazy busy times at work, the big move, and a recent and still ongoing case of pinkeye - we have been exhausted! But Matthew isn't phased by the pinkeye, I'm finally on the road to recovery, and we really love the new place (though Chad and I still have lots of unpacking to do)! Matthew has his own playroom here, just off the kitchen which is super. He has been contained to contamo-zone since Thursday, because we have to clean everything he touches in the hopes of pinkeye leaving the house in short order. Anyways, I thought it might be tough, but he loves his playroom and has been having a great time! Here are a couple of pics of him in his new playroom :-)
