Well, we have finally (all) arrived to our new home in Mississauga. It has been a crazy last few weeks packing up the house, selling the house, and now unpacking in the new house. We have made significant headway through the mountain of half-opened boxes over the past few days and I expect that in a couple more days we will be fully up and running!
Matthew is now just over 6 months old and he is doing fabulous! He had his check-up just before we left Nova Scotia and weighed 18lbs and was just over 28 inches long. This puts him in the 64th percentile for weight, the 96th percentile for lenght, and his head, as it turns out, is also in the 96th percentile (as if mom didn't know he had a big head!) :-)
Matty did really well on the plane ride and even had a short nap. Thankfully the seat next to us was vacant so I could lay him down. He has adjusted well to his new home and was very happy to see Riley when we got to the house.
I have yet to get my bearings here, but fortunately we have built in tour guides (aka, built in babysitters, cooks, tech support, and lovely company) in the form of my brother and sister-in-law, who live just downstairs in the basement apartment. Matty loves spending so much time with his aunt and uncle! The novelty of Paul and Lauren living here seems to have finally worn off on Riley as he no longer goes ballistic with excitement every time he sees them - I guess he figures they are now core members of the pack.
Anyways, here are some pictures from our first few days in our new home...
Here is Matty having his first taste of sweet potatoe chicken casserole. Don't be fooled by the sad eyes - he loves it - but I had to stop feeding him (momentarily) so that I could take his picture. He was not impressed.
My sleeping angel...all played out
Chilling with Dad and Riley :-)
